• “O empregador é a empresa, o chefe, o patrão”.

Dead ideas, we need to bury, on “People, Careers and Work Force”
• “The employer is a company, the boss, the boss.”
This way of thinking leads to the use of the term “employee” and “employee” to refer to anyone who works in a company. And the leaders to make “management for office.” Better think that the real employer is the customer. This would facilitate the long awaited practice of meritocracy, we can not deploy because we insist on treating everyone equally. Best would be to treat different people differently. Young talent will not tolerate being treated equally, without respect to their required individuality. In the future customers will have increasing voice in the promotion and remuneration of people.
• “Career Plan is the responsibility of the company.”
First, some traditional careers do not even exist anymore and many others are bound to disappear. Secondly, the “plan” was appropriate for careers in an era in which the corporate world was moving slowly and people longed to spend his professional life within the same company. They said, “work more and more that one day you get there.” This would work if “there” was in the same place as previously thought. It is no longer the case. Young people are rejecting this speech because it “there” certainly will not be in the same place. Better think that the responsibility for “career” – if we can still call it – can not be delegated to the company and must be personal and nontransferable task of each professional.
• “Human Heritage is synonymous with the staff of the company.”
This belief is at the root of “HR myopia,” which significantly limit the field for professionals in this area by limiting it to the traditional role of recruitment, selection and training of employees. Better think that the Human Assets is also the “outside” in the company’s relationship with distributors, suppliers, partners and communities.
• “Professional authority is the expert.”
The Age of experts is coming to an end. Better think that professional success, desired by the market, will Multicompetente.
• “Retire completing 65 years of age.”
This golden rule is designed in the Industrial Age was adequate at the time they lived on average 20 years less than today and that physical strength was important for the implementation of most activities in companies. Companies are wasting part of the Human Capital and Knowledge simply to fulfill a concept absurdly out of context today. Wisdom does not retire!
